Wi-Fi and network setup in South Lake Tahoe

Big houses, thick walls, cabins on a slope. Tahoe homes are hard on Wi-Fi. I find out why the signal drops and fix it, from a router swap to wired access points and a proper firewall. Homes and small offices in South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Stateline and Zephyr Cove.

How it works

  1. Describe the problem

Call or email with what’s happening: where the signal drops, what’s slow, what won’t connect.

  2. Look at the space

Settings problems can often be checked remotely. Coverage problems need a visit.

  3. Fix and test

I set up the fix, test the rooms that matter, and walk you through what changed.

Questions

Why is my Wi-Fi slow in some rooms?

Distance, walls, floors and interference all cut the signal. Stone fireplaces, metal and log walls are common culprits. The fix is usually a better-placed access point or a mesh system, not a faster internet plan.

Do I need a mesh system?

Not always. A well-placed router covers many homes. Bigger or multi-level homes usually need mesh or wired access points. You’ll know which after a look at the space.

Can you fix my existing setup instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. Settings, placement and channels fix a lot before any new hardware.

Can you set up a guest network?

Yes. Guests and smart devices get their own network, separate from your computers and files. Useful for vacation rentals too.

Do you work on business networks?

Yes, for small offices: firewalls, shared printers and files, and Wi-Fi for staff and customers.

Do you install security cameras?

Yes. Cameras live on the network, so they’re planned together. TV, audio & smart home
